The Miracle in The Mirror

Is it just me, or do most days consist of neglecting to see what God sees when you’re getting ready for the day and you look into that mirror at your reflection?

James 1:23-24 states:

'For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like.’

To be so bombarded by the weights of the world that you cannot look into the mirror and see the miracle staring back at you because of what God did, is a real travesty and hinderance to what God wants to do in and through your life. This happens far too often because of allowing the cares of this world to burden you to the point of neglecting God’s Word and acting upon what you have studied in it.

Instead, we tend to constantly hit replay of the current events of this life that are negative and burdensome and allow it to bring us down into a lackluster state of mind. God tells us to hand that stuff over to Him.

Matt. 11:28:

‘Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’

In Psalm 139:14, Jesus told us that we are “Fearfully and wonderfully made!”

Don’t be that wilderness child; aimlessly wondering and searching in the wrong places and thinking about the things that make no eternal difference.

SEE what God has done specifically, “just for you,” and thank and praise Him today for that miracle looking back at you.

Create a new habit today and keep it going, not only counting your blessings, but writing them down. Keep record! You will start to see the patterns of God’s faithfulness, His goodness, His lovingkindness, His provision, His generosity, and His safety over you. This will pull you straight out of that pit that you might have unknowingly dug for yourself!

Look at that miracle in the mirror that is YOU. Jesus died FOR YOU! There are always reasons to celebrate when we recall the evidence of His goodness in our lives.

Where God brought you from to where you’re at…WOW!

Smile back at that miracle of God that you see and know that you are His delight and His desire is to refine you “as gold!” His prize!
