Study is a means to Holiness. It should form within each aspect of our lives.
Study is a means to growth in Christian virtues. It must compel us to project these virtues into our environment.
We must learn the moral standard that God has set before us through His Instruction Manual (the Bible).
We cannot discern well in this life without the Word of God being imperative in our daily routines. By digging deeper into the Holy Scriptures and applying what we have learned and hidden in our hearts, we can learn to emulate Christ more and more. This preparation also prepares us to be an example to others of Christlikeness so that they can see The Hope that lives inside us and want it for themselves.
How do we resolve all the problems that life throws our way? By trusting God’s Word to be the standard by which we judge and prove everything against that is thrown at us. We just weigh and balance it all through the filtering lens of what God has to say.
It is not enough that we are formed to live as the right kind of Christians; we must also help others to live as disciples of Jesus. It has been said that “He who can be a General is not allowed to be a Sergeant!”
Matthew 22:29 says, “ You are IN ERROR because you DO NOT KNOW the Scriptures OR the power of God!
Isn’t that a real eye-opener?
What does it look like to be “in error” because you don’t know the Scriptures? You would be full of heresy!
The First part of Hosea 4:6 states: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge!
Study is a means of advancement as a Christian. There’s something wrong with a Christian who wishes to remain at an inferior level. He/she is “destroyed!”
“Good, better, best. Never let it rest…until your good gets better, and your better is best!”
PRAYER:
Jesus, only You can help me be better and at my very best. Give me the desire to crave the sincere milk of Your Word, that I may grow thereby! (1 Peter 2:2) Help me to trust in You for ALL things in my life as I walk out my freedom in Christ.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
